| GAMBRINUS LIGHTS UP THE NIGHT PARADE This spectacular family-friendly parade highlights the first weekend of Galveston's Mardi Gras season. Incredible theme-based costumes accent brightly lit world-class floats that bring joy and laughter to well over 300,000 spectators on a typical carnival weekend. Come join the fun and catch some of the thousands ot beads that are thrown on parade day! |

 OUR MISSION The Krewe of Gambrinus is chartered to support commerce and tourism for the City of Galveston. This nonprofit and nonpolitical corporation is formed and exists only for educational, cultural, charitable, patriotic, historical, social and civic purposes for the benefit of the community. The Krewe of Gambrinus is an all-volunteer organization with active year-round charitable and social events. Community outreach events include visiting hospitals, schools, assited living and nursing homes, and working with the City of Galveston to put on a spectacular parade with incredible floats! | TRADITION The formality of Mardi Gras is mysterious, elegant and over-the-top. Many of the traditions that began in the 1700’s remain alive and well today, including that of Krewe Royalty. Finding “the baby” in the King’s cakes, grandstand toasts, lavish gowns, capes, sparkles, glitter, feathers, and elaborate pageantry are just some the traditions that remain an integral part of the Mardi Gras experience today!
